When new mail arrives, I get no new mail notification until I click on the inbox.

Any ideas?

Robert

are you using Outlook?
if you are, under "Tools-Options-General" there should be some checkboxes for different options. Check the one that says "Notify me of new messages" or something like that.
Also, set the time that it checks for new emails to something like 2 minutes or whatever you feel like..

hope it helps,
g

I am using a mixture of outlook 2002 and outlook 98. This feature was working previously but has now stopped on all machines. The check boxes are ticked in options

Any other ideas?

Is this in a corporate workgroup setup with an Exchange server or is this for Internet Mail Only? joegz

It is a corporate setup with Exchange Server 5.5. Looked at technet but the only indication they give is that the new mail notification run's in 5 minute cylces, however I am not getting it to show at all

Robert, I am having the same problem. Have you found a solution to it

This problem also happens under Excahange 2000 and Outlook XP but did not start until Windows XP SP1 was installed on the client machines. If you uninstall the service pack your new mail notification arrives as normal.

This can also be caused by a missing entry in the LDT (Local Domain Table) on the ISA Server (if you have one). The local domain (AD DomainName) has to be in the LDT or Exchange cannot find the Outlook client to send the UDP notification to.

The LDP entry should look something like "*.domain.dom"

We recently saw this and discovered an error on the ISA.

Hope this helps.
