Heres a frustrating one for me:

Just built a new Pentium 4 1.8Ghz system with the following components:

Intel P4 chip
Liteon na380 socket478 motherboard
ATI Radeon 64mb 7500 AGP Graphics card
256mb PC2100 DDR (1)
New 400w power supply including extra 12v power connector for p4 support.

The problem is having built the machine I am unable to get through to the graphic display stage.
The machine powers on fine and the lights work, the hard drive ticks over but then the machine stays on without displaying any graphics on the screen.
I have already tried the following:

1)Different IDE cables
2)Reseating the memory in each of the available 3 slots
3)Reseating the CPU
4)Made sure the graphics card is seated flush

If it was either the CPU or the memory surely the machine would beep to let me know?
My graphics card works as it has just come out of another machine.

The manual itself is very vague and does not really suggest any work arounds or FAQ'S

Anyone have any ideas?
Driving me mad

Just a thought -- in the machine specs, you did not say if the hard drive is new or one out of another machine and whether the OS is a fresh install or an old one. I have had graphics go black when I set the video settings to something that was not compatible with my card/monitor setup. You might try setting the bios to boot up on a floppy or a cd and see if is OS related. A boot disk should get you to a prompt screen atleast.

All pins seem to be ok.
In your case Moggy, all you had to do was remove the PCI card and connect your monitor to the onboard connector, then disable onboard graphics then switch off and insert your PCI card.

Shellguy - my hard disks I am transferring from another system to my new one. The previous system used the ATI graphics card I am trying to use now in the new one.
I wish I could enter the BIOS but unfortunately this is the whole problem - no video.
I tested the processor in another machine yesterday and the same thing happened, I have ordered another processor and will attempt to sort the machine out tonight.

Bingo!!! New processor, everything fires into life.
I would like to thank everyone concerned who sent in their opinions for me.
I am impressed by the helpfullness you guys offer

Kind Regards

Jason
