We just got 12 new phone lines from Comcast cable. The lines show up but they all state they are 'out of service'. I tried setting them to Loop Start or Ground start and rebooted but they still show as out of service. The lines give dial tone. Anything else i can try?
Thanks.

forgot to mention:
IP office 500 version 4.1

are these analog lines?
try to edit them and set them into service in the analogue tab of the line the dropdown should be Loopstart Loopstart ICLID Groundstart and out of service.
If you set them into one of the other three modes they should never go to the out of service

i tried all 3. The are analog lines. I plugged in a regular non digital phone, our test phone, and they got dialtone.

when you retrieve the configuration and tehn ste the lines to the type you need (ground start only works on the 16 port trunk module) so with or without caller ID and then upload the configuration again with a reboot it comes back with out of service again?
If that is the case delete the lines and then upload it again, they will recreate themselves.

changed it again to Loop Start and rebooted. They still show as Out of Service. Any thing else I can try?

are you sure if i delete the lines they will come back after a reboot? Or does it need to be a full shutdown?

I just tried it on my test system and removed the 4 analog lines I have and after rebooting the system with the removed configuration it recreates the lines again with all default values.
If you have a separate module for trunks it should do the same thing because it sees the module when it comes back from the reboot.

removed the lines, rebooted, they came back as Loop Start CLID. Still out of service.

Just to be clear the line type shows up correctly, its the Current State that shows as out of service.

Perhaps the "lines" you have are just pots ports instead of trunks ?

Yes, they are POTS lines from a Cable modem. They show as out of service in the System Status Application.

unplug them and see if it still shows out of service, I have only 2 lines on my analog 4 card and they all 4 show in service idle, maybe you have some bad hardware.

I unplugged them and restarted the analog module and the main system. Still no dice. Any other voodoo i can try?

Thanks, maybe it is bad module. It was the cheapest one we found.

it says Analogue ATM16, no serial number comes up IP office manage application. Version 4.0 (16)

maybe my version of IP office does not support this module?
