I just bought a new flat panel LCD monitor. When I installed it on my system with Windows XP, is was autodected and installed, and it worked great for about 1 hour. Than the screen went completely dark. The image could just barely be seen by shining a light on the screen. After shutting down the monitor for 20' it worked again for a short time, then went dark again. Now it will not light up even after being off a whole day. When the monitor cable is disconnected, it normally should display a test screen saying "no signal", but that was barely visible. The screen flashes and goes dark. My video adapter is an integrated SiS620, and seems OK, it works with a CRT monitor. When the LCD monitor was working, I was able to run auto calibrate, and the refresh rate seemed to be right.
Could this be a common problem with LCD monitors?
