Hi all,
Newly installed IPO customer just moved over from a BCM50. I'm told the following:
"the front desk takes a call and needs to transfer it to someone’s voicemail – so they hit TRANSFER – then # - then there’s a pause for a few seconds while they look up the extension number, and before they have a chance to enter the extension number the handset starts giving an ‘ugly’ busy-like signal and says “incompatible” on the display. They then have to take the call back, apologize to the caller, then do the ‘transfer to voicemail’ process all over again. Is there any way in IPO Manager to increase the ‘timeout’ value by even a few more seconds to allow for a bit more time for dialing the extension number when transferring a call (either to voicemail *or* to a ‘live’ extension)?"

Do you guys know of a setting parameter for this? I have set dial delay to 3 seconds (from the default of 4); is that the setting that would affect this trouble description?

Thanks!
Chris

My original post was wrong. The dial delay is still at the default 4 seconds.

This feature is built in to the message button, no need for the #code and then you don't have this issues either :)

Dial Delay count would not be relevant if the time-out is expiring.
if it is set to 4 seconds then I expect the user is either in the USA , using SIP trunks or some other backward telephone network that does not support overlap dailing in which case the count is set to 0 & not used

Amriddle is correct. train the users properly so they use the visual voice features for direct messaging.

Alternatively sell soft-console for the receptionist & she simply needs to locate the user whilst still talking to the customer & then press the VM key (F3 iirc) to transfer the caller to the mailbox.

A trail licence is available & once the receptionist has tried it she will sell it for you & love you forever!
(hint if the preservationist aint happy anit no-one gona be happy)
