Hi all, I have a new/used IPO 500 with 8.0 licence. There are no modules put in.
I plugged in a 1608I set in and it says no licence. Do I need a licence for phones to work?

Since I typically do more digital than Hard IP, I tend to always have a combo card in there which provides VCM resources but then you would need IP endpoints for each handset as well.

For IP phones you do need VCM channels and Avaya IP licenses.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

How do I go about getting licences? I have the VCM card.

You talk to your business partner and have them order them for you.

Your Distributer/Business Partner if bought through official channels, if not you need to find one, many will not sell licences if they didn't supply the equipment unless they have the maint contract though :)

Do you mean, how to tell what licenses you have? Talk to your BP, they would be able to lookup licensing on the serial#. I think a few chaps on here have that ability as well; I don't though, cannot seem to figure out the secret handshake for it.

if you have a VCM32 you should have 12 endpoint licences that come with it.

You need Essential edition license as well at R8 to support IP extensions. Out of the box, an IP Office has the new Basic edition s/w, which only supports hard phones.
