New IP500v2A installation

Hello,

I am an old Avaya customer with 3 installation dating from 2004, 2006, 2007 of Avaya G3siV12 in the hospitality sector.

This summer we will need a new Avaya installation with 90 extensions and the local Avaya supplier suggested the following setup :

I plan on using a Telecom provider that offers IP telephony, so if my understanding is correct I will not need a VoIP Gateway that converts PBX lines to IP...

Since I don't need remote users, I think that IPO R11 PREFFERED EDITION LIC (Required for Remote Users) is optional and probably I won't use it..

With regards to phones, since we don't need any special features the J129 IP PHONE GLOBAL should be sufficient, and maybe some J139 IP PHONE GLOBAL..

For telephone attendant ? I see the license but not the device...

What do you think of this setup?

The number of users you have will be too many for the Embedded voicemail (assuming of course each user will use voicemail) so you will want to keep the Preferred license to support VM Pro.
The Receptionist license is to support the Soft Console software that the central answering person can use to answer and transfer calls using a PC.

Why do you need 8 analog? If you don't need any analog or only 2 I would put a Combo card in instead as it will give you an additional 10 VCM channels on top of the 64 from the VCM64

Everything else looks fine to me

 
Since this system is going to be used for a hospitality project, from my experience hotel guests rarely or never need any special features in their rooms. Usually it is simply to order room service, ask something from the concierge, communicate with reception, etc... For communication most people nowadays use their cellphone including whatsapp, viber, messenger apps... So no real need for voicemail..

The PBX also services restaurant/room service, accounting room with 1 user, laundry room 1 user, spa/gym area 1 user...

How does the Soft console for the attendant work? Any like to get info ?

With regards to the analog card, I think the Avaya person suggested this if I need a wireless phone somewhere...

I also plan to use VoIP telephony provider, so the SIP feature will be sufficient without need for external VoIP gateway correct ??
 
Personally, the J129 is the phone you give to people that you don't like - and after trying to use for a while the feeling is usually mutual.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
 
Hahaha... Why do you hate Avaya J129 so much ?
Is it difficult to program or difficult to operate ?
Are there any model changes I should know about... The latest is 2023?

With regards to VoIP provider, in my other installations I use a VEGA VoIP gateway..
I was told that if my Avaya PBX supports it, I do VoIP without extra equipment...
