Hello everyone,
Setting up a new ip office, serial dongle in place, trunk module in position B (tried A first). Try making a call, the green led for that line flickers and the phone drops off. Almost sounds like the system is in DEMO mode, I think the dongle might be bad. Any thoughts

Thanks in advance!

dongle wouldnt make any difference unless it was a 500.
which as you said serial i guess its not

what do your shortcodes look like?

whats the status of the trunk light if the system is idle?

what type of lines/card are you using?

Thanks for the quick response!

The trunk light is a steady green when idle.
Using a IP 400 ATMU 700359938
Short codes are default

What software version?

Take Care

Matt
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

so analogue lines.

what displays on the handset when the call drops

what type of unit is it?

I think he means the topic starter

Use monitor to see what happens
If you do not know what it is or how it works then call your BP

Guess who... Anyone with a little bit of experience or just taken a course would know that a dongle has nothing to do with trunks incoming or outgoing traffic.
Putting a trunk card in slot A or B does not matter.
I reccomend the following:
Remove all trunk cards from IPO, factory default the box, upgrade to the latest possible version ( I recommend 4.1.9 ), factory default again, power down, insert trunk cards, connect expansion modules and power up.
Bring the expansion cards to the same software level as the main box.
Adjust basic settings ( Locale, system name, LAN , trunk type and synchronisation ) reboot for these settings and try again.

OK Yes this is my first ip office.
I dial 9 plus a number, the led flickers and the display goes back to Extn203

Tried a new ATMU in slot A same thing

I did not mean to offend you, we all have started once as a newbie didn't we, my apologies.
I think this is the answer to your question:

1964624mS CMTARGET: SYS SC:5 97 2 7 sc=type=Dial64K code=9N, num=N

There you have your problem, you do not use the common "Dial" action in the shortcode but you use "Dial64k" which is meant only for data calls and not for voice calls.

intrigrant

Good spot.... * for you
