Hello,
I am trying to update my server infastructure. I had 2 servers that handled everything. the server1 had AD,DNS,DHCP,WSUS. server 2 had exchange and file sharing. I was having dns/dhcp problems with server1.
for my new setup. I want to have 3 servers with server2k3. have server1 only handle AD. server2 handle exchange/file sharing. have a new server3 to handle DNS,DHCP,WSUS.
here is what i've done so far. install server1 and AD. Do not install DNS/DHCP during install.
I join server2 and server3 to the domain and logged-in, but the log in frooze. I'm pretty sure it's dns issue. I have my IP manually setup so they are in the same subnet mask.
I want to know what i did wrong, or is this possible. this is i'm planning to do. install server1 with AD and dns/dhcp. add server2 and 3 to the domain. install their services. remove dns/dhcp on server1. will this option work? are there any other ways of doing this?
thanks,
ky
