Hi folks
I have just installed a newly purchased 500Gb hard disk and installed Windows XP Pro (legit) which reported success. When I check the BIOS, it reports 500Gb but using properties of C: or Partition Magic, the partition shows as only 130Gb and I can't resize C: or do anything with it. The other anomaly is that the 'lost' 350GB appears to has been formatted but no drive letter has been assigned.
Has anyone else come across this problem ?
Thx John

But the CD says that it Service Pack 2. Is MS bending the truth again ?

Does right-clicking on My Computer and choosing Properties show SP2? Or Start, Run, winver

What does Disk Management have to say about the drive? Start, Run, diskmgmt.msc

Properties showed SP2.
Got fed up and re-formatted the HDD with the same CD and it works !!!

Thanks for all your comments folks
