Is there anyway to just select another users mailbox and either right click and new email or click on new email button and have it know that you are trying to send from that user?

- outlook 2007, Exchange accounts, user has full access and send permissions from second account. mail goes into a seperate data file, and can easily send from the second account but has to choose from the GAL who he wants it from.
He claims he used to be able to do this, but i'm not sure its possible.

Doesn't he have the FROM field visible? That would give you the option to pick.

If he selects the inbox for that account, and then opens a new mail message, what's the FROM field say?

You should ask this in one the Exchange Forums

But with Exchange you have to be delegated with "Send on behalf of" righta to another users mail box.

He has permisions to send as fineand can happily send emails from said account.
The problem is - he says he used to be able to select the data folder of the exchange account in outlook, cick on new email and it knew which account he was sending from. Without him having to select from.
I think he's talking !ollock!

If by "data folder" you are referring to the account tree entry, yep that is how Outlook works, At least since Outlook 2003 it does.

Also, if you show the "from" field in messages you should see a "drop down" selector for tha accounts that are available.

However that may only be available if Outlook is in "Internet Mail only" configuration rather than "Corporate or Workgroup" configuration, depending on what version of Outlook you are running
