My windows XP system crashed big time. Microsoft determined that is was this NVDIA thing (I am a new computer user) caused the crash. They told me to see if new drivers were available to download to fix the problem. All I know that it is called is NVDIA nView on my control panel. Please techies, send me the page and links I need to download whatever the heck I need. Have Samsung SyncMaster 753 of monitor, presario 6000 computer less than 1 monthd old.

You really need to know the vendor of your video card...altho some do fine with native nvidia drivers.
As for the debate/blame-exchanging that techs do...that's most often their response when they don't know what the problem is OR how to fix it.
Go to Device manager and see what it says about your video adapter (a.k.a. card) and then look for the drivers at the vendor's website...
Have you run dxdiag at Start/Run? (Useful in diagnosing video ailments.)

OR: post back with your card mfr. and I'll try to help you more!

Visit the manufactures website, look for driver support for your model then VGA drivers, download and use.
Always best to go to the manufactures site first before reference drivers are sort especially when you don't know what you have fitted. Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.

I have video problems (ATI 8500DV) myself and new to Xp. Gargouille answer interested me. More info on how to use dxdiag at start/run would be appreciated.

dxdiag at start/run brings up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (assuming you have XP)...a series of tests...hoops for your puter to jump thru, if you will. Hitting next page will either let you run different tests or give you system information...and alert you to problems you're having.
Speaking of which...if you be more specific, perhaps someone will have the answer you need.
