I've just upgraded my drivers to the latest version on my Sapphire Radeon 9100 vivo due to some graphic problems in Halo. On the reboot Windows now finds 2 new pieces of hardware which it can't find drivers for and can't identify. Sandra and that unknown hardware application (sorry can't remember the name!!) both ID it as being related to the ATI card but can give nothing more. Any ideas anyone.

Sorry I can't give any more info at the moment but I'm in front of another machine.

If I'm guessing correctly, you grabbed the latest drivers from Sapphire's website, right? Sapphire provides the video card drivers only, and does not include the control panel app or multimedia drivers (for vivo cards). Grab the latest Catalyst drivers directly from ATi & install that, I bet those unknown devices are the video-in drivers for the card.

No, I've been thru all the driver hassle from sapphire in the past and got the drivers from ATI, it was the 7-962 drivers. I've re-installed the capture drivers because that's what i thought it might be. Is the control panel a necessary upgrade each time? I've rolled back to the previous driver and it seems fine although i'm still getting the display issues i had in Halo again. Not too much problem since i'm wrapped up in Freelancer now!! :)

Takes me back to my BBC micro 'Elite' days i can tell ya....

I am having a problem finding drivers for a Dell Trinitron Ultrascan P78 monitor. the s/n is D3596509.

The screen sometimes shakes as tho we are having a 7.5 earthquake....

norty....there are specific vivo drivers....your pc probably isn't recognizing the "in" side of the card.. i had the same prob with my 9000 vivo

papagene....may not be a driver issue....horizontal or vertical sync settings are the most likely culprit...my monitor has dials on the inside for such adjustments...but i've seen older ones that had them outside or on a menu from front panel.

the only right answer to "why?" is: "why not?"
