After setting up our own DNS. I noticed my SMTP log was larger than usual. When I checked I saw that NO e-mail was going out to AOL.com, MSN.com, Compuserve.com. All other e-mail was being delivered to it's appointed destination. I checked and re-checked my config... called my link to verify that all was well... Called internic to verify all info is indeed correct. I'm at a loss... this is going on week 2 and my I'm at my wits end...
Thanks in advance for any help...
Have you registered your In.addr-arpa net? Their (AOL etc) systems may not accept email from external sources unless reverse lookup works, for which you need the in.addr-arpa working.
Thank you for your reply....
I entered the in.addr-arpa in my DNS. I found that I
was linked to a black hole. My link pointed me back
to myself. THEY assure me my DNS is all correct.
A customer tried to download a version of Netscape
the 128 encryped version. It tells them they can't due
to a DNS error. My mail log is still full of
"can't get there from here's" as well as
"truncated datagram from DNS."
