Is there a way to stop GW from adding a contact to the address book everytime a reply is sent to an incoming email generated by someone who will never be contacted again? THANK YOU
Read the note at the end regarding "The "Auto Delete - Amount" can be set to "0" in the registry to allow for automatic deletion of all entires from the frequent contacts book.
The article appears to focus entirely on deleting all frequent contacts. In addition to the frequent contacts I want to keep, my frequent contacts list also has names of over 50 strangers simply because they sent an email asking a question and I replied. GW is making an address book entry for all of them...that is what I want to stop. Thanks
GroupWise has no way of knowing which ones you wish to keep and which ones are strangers you will never message again. The logic of how Frequent Contacts works would have to change - sort of like prompt you with a dialog box that says "do you want to add this person to your frequent contacts list?".
Here's a way I just came across poking around in my address book. (GW v6.0):
Open the Address book. Right-click on the Frequent Contacts Tab, choose Filtering, choose "Filter for at Least 3 References". I'm guessing this will go a long way toward what you wish to accomplish. In fact I'm going to turn it on in my own account.
