I have a brand new 1751 router, how would I get rid of the base or the default config from the router so that I could copy the config from notepad to the router. the router is connected via console to my laptop and I am using hyperterm to access it. Thnaks

while consoled into it you could do a "write erase"
and then reload it.
when it comes back up you can click no to the auto setup and then dump your config into it.

be sure you are using the console cable and not telnet. that would of course cause you to lose your connection.

Also once in via console you can just copy the running config and put a 'no' in front of most of the lines to remove them. you may need to do this anyway since even if you forgo the auto config, it still puts one in.
