Just built it. When I turn it on, nothing will appear on monitor. I tried the monitor and the video card on another computer and it worked fine. Any ideas what could cause the video to do nothing?
Check out the FAQ on this forum. Otherwise it could be anything, CPU, memory, motherboard. You need to do more checking. Just because there is no video does not mean it's a video problem.
No, i didn't see any video adapters, although it has an Nvidia chipset.
Also, the only thing that isn't brand new is the cd-r drive. I've checked all the connections, I just can't figure this one out. I don't have ALL the stand-offs behind the motherboard...only in the four corners. So I'm gonna try finding some more stand-offs and put the rest in when i get home.
When you start the machine up, do you just get the normal POST single beep, or are there any other symptoms which might suggest something is wrong? Do all the fans start, and the LEDs light up normally on the front of the machine? If you don't have an onboard VGA connection to check out the monitor, then you need to get the most basic system running first. In other words, if there are any other non-essential cards installed which may be causing some kind of conflicts, remove these and just run a "bare bones" system. Also, try the video card in another slot, just in case the connection is dodgy.
