New Avaya CM system and Mitel IP handsets?

I am getting an Avaya system for my district office and have a branch location that has a small Mitel 3300 setup with about 8 Mitel 5200 IP phones. The phones from my understanding can operate in MiNet mode (which is their default) or SIP mode. I will put a local G430 gateway for them to replace their Mitel 3300 switch and want to convert the handsets to SIP mode to work with my new Avaya system.

Can someone point me to a whitepaper or some link that confirms that the Mitel phones will "work" with the Avaya system? I know it won't be as full featured as using Avaya handsets, but basic functionality is ok in this situation for now.
