I am installing a new CO trunk card into an Option 11C and I can't seem to receive calls on them, I can dial out by using the ACOD and I can answer the incoming call by dialling the ACOD when I have a call set up but when I do a TRAC on it shows IDLE, am I missing something.

I have put the card into another slot and it works fine.

I have put the trunks as a member of another route and they do not work so it is either something in the trunk block which all matchaes fine with one that works or something else????

Check your ICOG prompt in LD 16. Set it to IAO.

Can you put a copy of the TNB for both the working and non-working trunks here.

The ICOG value is set to IAO (in and out)

The problem is across two card that I have put in, I have swapped the cards to a slot that is working and it is fine.

The TNB data:- 1 5 does not work, the only difference is the PPID BTID which I can't set.

check the targ on the route, chances are it's the route, not the trunk. you stated that you can answer a call via acod, after the call sets up.. that is not a feature that works, nortel has a block on that (all vendors) or dialing 9 would almost always barge in on a line..you've got something strange..

I agree John, it is strange, it is like the system is not seeing the incoming call, in fact if I do a TRAC 0 10 1 on the trunk it shows idle when I call it, that is why I can dial the ACOD and answer the call (I have to dial something before we can talk).

Is there something that needs to be done when you put a card in to tell it the config of the card, it has been a long time since I have worked on Nortel gear.

Also if I put the trunk as a member of another route it still does not work which means it is not in the RDB.

Stuart

i don't see analog trunks very much any more, but the cards do (or did) have a switch setting for loop or ground start. if your routes are the same, and you don't have a tgar/targ match on the route and your inbound atdn, something is stranger then just a switch setting. a haunting perhaps..

I aggree, who am I gona call ....Ghostbusters...

As far as the cards go, I swapped one of the cards into a slot that has a COT card in it which is working and the fault stays with the TN so it is not the card.

There are two paremeters PPID & BTID which are set to 0 on the faulty circuit and 8 on the working circuit, these are only for busy tone and meter pulses I believe but why don't I get the option to change them?

There 3 items that are different not 2

I don't wanna sound stupid here but I can't remember if my problem was the same.....ye, it was a technician problem. We use krono blocks as a standard here and on them you have to jumper 1 skip on for analoge. i.e 1,3,5,and 7 on the actual krono block. so port 0 would go to pos 1 of the crono.

Maybe this helps.....

That is correct you start on pair one of the tail to the card slot and then use every second pair but that is not the problem, I can access the line outgoing ok.

To add confusion to the problem I removed all the trunks and then removed the cards then I put one card back in slot 10 programmed up the trunk as a member of a current route and it worked, I then put the trunk as a member of one of the new routes and it also worked....once, now I can't get it to ring again.

I am going to give the system a reset tonight to see if it sorts anything out.

Stuart

might be a bad trunk or reversed. try using an analog station as the inbound co trunk. if that works, then the cot itself may be cold, ie below normal voltage and/or current/ring current.
