New Aloha manager 1

Does anyone have a install instructions or any type of guide to install new Aloha manager. My dealer wants 150 an Hour they say it takes 2 hours to update my lab system. Want to get it updated to NAM so I am able to do site training before my sites jump to 12.3. I have vast experience install Aloha many time over just the new NAM. Thank you for your help

Why do dealers do that? Realistically if you have a good tech like ross or I it only takes like 20 minutes given there are no snags (which sometimes there are) but really doesn't take any more than an hour tops even with problems.

Dealers do this because they dont have well trained techs. Generally helpdesk is a level 1 entry level position. They know the least and are expected to know everything. They follow a script to diagnose a problem and not ver from it. When they get good at there job, they are promoted out of helpdesk to a more challenging position like installation or training. Qualified techs are then gone from the desk and the cycle starts all over again.

I agree I have been thru 3 different resellers in the past 10 years. The reseller I have now do a great job with help desk support after hours. They work with us really well. I handle a lot of the help desk in house and my reseller fills in the gaps for us.

I think you hit the nail on the head Ross. I am far higher up but still fill in helpdesk when asked or short handed. I primarily do installations, trainings special projects and database re-writes for older neglected sites. It was sort of a learning curve because I didn't start in helpdesk. To date I have brought some 70 or so sites online with many more on the radar.
