I have had a couple of IP phones on the system for about 3 years. Just bought some new ones which are Aastra Dialog 4422 loaded with R7C software. I have configured the network settings correctly but phone won't log on. Wondered if there is a software compatability issue? ELU32 firmware is R6A. Not sure what software the working phone is running as can't display it.

Thanks

As advised by whosrdaddy, I have set up web server & installed R3B boot & application files (I couldn't find R4H) onto the DBC42202 but the phone still won't log on to GK. I took the config below off the phone itself. Strange how it says the phone is logged on even though it isn't, and it shows no extn or GK IP address in the status...

Thanks to anyone who can help me!!

Thanks for your reply whosrdaddy

The phone has the GK address specified but still doesn't register. I have printed my old IP phone which is working and notice it is App Ver. R4H Boot Ver. R4B but that phone is the old 42x01 version. I could only find R3B available for download for my version DBC42x02. The IP softphone also registers with the GK without a problem. If I could get hold of R4H is it likely to fix the issue?

and what if you enter the GK address manaully in the phone? (via the menu in the phone, C * 5 sequence to enable menu)

if it still not works,
make an ethereal trace and see what the phone is receiving from the MD110.

Dear Kronehead! There is no support for DBC42X ver 2 in BC12sp8. You have to upgrade! Regards Hotfix

Indeed, hotfix is right!

DBC42X02 is supported from SP9 and above.
the star is for you hotfix!

Thanks everyone for your help. Not the answer I wanted to hear but at least I know what the problem is & I've learned a lot about setting up the IP phones :)

I suppose the 4422 version 1 phones were withdrawn from sale when the version 2 was released, as most systems would have their SP's kept up to date. Unfortunately this is not the case with ours so I will have to try getting the phones swapped - new for old!

Thanks Again
