New 1140E saying incompatible FW blocked 2

Phones recently purchased for agents working in another country. CS is here in the US. Part model number is NTYS05. Getting error message

Firmware upgrade
/u/fw/x25.fw
from 192.168.9.55

after like 5 minutes, it gave the message -

incompatible FW blocked
/u/fw/x25.fw
from 192.168.9.55

Any ideas? Not doing anything different that I normally do for phones I buy locally.
 
You'll need to load newer firmware on the sig server. Those phones have newer firmware than the sig server, the sig server is trying to downgrade them and the phone is not allowing it to be downgraded.

 
Do I have to have a login with Nortel to get new firmware?
 
Log into your Element Manager and depending on your release look for IP Telephony\Software\Telephony Firmware, you should be directed to a listing of all your IP phones. Select your phone type then click the Refresh Currency file button.
 
Thank you both. I did do as you said pbxn and the new firmware is uploaded. I have the option to distrubute the new firmware. I'm wondering how that affects working users on the 1140s. Does the firmware only download when the phone is rebooted?
