What is the best way to go, DSL or Cable? I have cable moden now w/768k high speed internet. But I have been offered a deal from my phone service for DSL through the phone line. I was about to wire my house with wall receptacles for ethernet hook ups in other rooms to connect other computers in my house back to my 4 port router. And now I am not sure which way I should go.
I would appreciate any advice on the matter.

From a security perspective DSL has better privacy since you are not on a local network as with cable. At the moment Cable may have better bandwidth.

Your home network is the same with DSL or Cable assuming you have a modem capable of either. Your router and local ethernet will be the same.

You might consider wireless and the added costs and complexity instead of wired ethernet.
