Folks,

I have a strange request and this is probably not the right forum to post it in but I though I'd give it a try.

Is there any utility out there (prefereably free) that I can use to remotely close any open programs on a client machine and then shut down that machine. I would need to schedule that task so it would have to be able to run remotely.

Thanks.

that seems to work a treat - thanks a million

It's a great util i use it to reboot a set of clients each night and force the closing of any open apps. You can put a client list in a text file to shutdown groups of PC's then use task scheduler to run a .bat file.

Is there any way to send the output from the command to a log file. It would be nice to be able to track what machines, if any, were left powered on.

I'm not sure there is, mabe adding > C:\log.txt to the end of the command.

Any idea if there is a similar utility out there that will work with Win98. That psshutdown utility is excellent but will on work with NT/2000/XP.
