Soon I will need to network two BCM 50's together.
Is the recommendation in this instance to switch them to 4 digit extension numbers and have one of them in the 2xxx range and the other 3xxx ?

or is it ok to keep them at 3 digit extensions?

Also I will want the capability of making a call from an extension on BCM A that dials out using a trunk on BCM B - any tips for that?

You can use steering codes to contact each site such as 71 or 72 etc as long as the number is spare. Also you can have a linked number scheme.

You can configure phones to dial out on lines across a network, but you need to "play" with remote access packages and do some tweeking in the routing tables.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.
