Networking the Callpilot

I'm having trouble getting the networking up. I changed the IP in the CPand tied it to the system, so all I should have to do is go to internet explorer and type in the IP? Right?

Make sure you changed your cable too.

are u using a crossover cable?

Thats why I mentioned to change it, he used it to tap in direct.

O.K. I have set the IP to one given me by the IT guy, then I changed the cable to a cat-5e patch cable connected to the network. Went to a computer on the network and opened internet explorer and typed (in the address bar) the IP I was given

the reply I get is cannot open site.

Did you set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0?

your subnet on call pilot must match your networks
