i would like to know is there a way to make one LAN using two internet connections? if so what kind of hardware would i need?

I'm not sure I follow what exactly you are trying to do... Are you trying to connect to the internet from a LAN using two seperate connections to the internet? What type of connection is it to the internet, dialup, dedicated?
If you could elaborate on what exactly you are trying to do, I'd be happy to try and help.
Thanks,
No you cannot create a lan out of two internet connections.
A lan(local area network) is a series of computers that can share files, internet and programs across a speific type of wiring called RJ45. You can accomplish this through crossover wiring or using a hub or switch. What you might be trying to get at is making one internet connection out of two dial up modems (2 56k= 110k). This is covered in another part of this forum.

Firewall on both ends to connect ot the ISP. And fixed IP addresses from your ISP. And 2 dsl or T1 lines with routers.

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Yes it is possible!
You need 2 routers and a firewall that can handle multiple interfaces.
Remember that you also need to own an IP range that you can subnet into 2 networks. Thats the only way to get the routers to work together.

Hope this helps

sounds like a cry for VPN to me
for pint$ = 1 to 20
for pint$ = pint$ + 1
if pint$ = 20 goto HOME
next pint$

Ive seen Modems that use two phonelines from the same device to double the bandwidth, but I have never seen a computer with one installed. I am assuming that the modem driver is designed to manage the 2 lines for you. Must be a hassle to tie up 2 phone lines. DSL might be less expensive than paying for 2 phone lines if it is available. If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

Yes this sounds like the guy is trying to create a VPN to me too.

FireElf, what exactly are you trying to do?
