I have a Performa 6200 with a Comm Slot Ethernet card and a iBook G3 500. I am trying to network the two together. However whenever when I turn file sharing on the iBook just goes to "starting up File Sharing" and stays there. That is where it stops. Someone help me. All I am using is a crossover cable.

Throw away the Appleshare Prep file inside the Preferences Folder inside the System Folder by dragging it to the trash icon and choosing empty trash from the Special menu, then Restart the computer. Note this obviously only works in System 9.2.2 and earlier which I'm assuming the Performa is using.

I would buy a G5 but, I'm not rich.....

Hi ebuddy889, the poster you're replying to hasn't logged on since Tue, Oct 22, 2002. Perhaps you could write an FAQ for this forum on a topic you are familiar with, looks like there's room for a few more. Have a star for your efforts!

Andy.
