We are setting up 2 Norstars MICS 7.1 with Centralized
voicemail (Callpilot). Each switch has their own copper
PSTN trunks and are tied together with PRI-SL1/MCDN.
Switch A (w/Callpilot) will have DNs 2XX and 3XX while
Switch B will have DNs 4XX and 5XX. I was told that
all I would need to do is create destination codes and
point it to the PRI route for each switch. If I'm using
a CDP dialing plan, the system will only allow me to
program one PrivNet ID (PNI), which is the leading
digit for the stations. Am I missing something? How
can Switch B call station numbers 2XX and 3XX in switch A
using CDP?

If you dial the VM DN from the remote site it should recognize the person calling and go to that mailbox just like F981 at the host site.

We can dial the vm dn and access our mailbox from the remote site. I just wanted to be one step ahead of the user, in case they ask for the remote code. The remote users currently have their separate voicemail system and access their vm by dialing F981. I hope they will accept dialing the vm dn, otherwise I'll have to do more reading. Why did they want Centralized voicemail? Probably cost. Thanks again.

We'll sell them on the idea that it will take more steps to do a remote access than to dial the vm dn.

we just put an Internal Auto Dial button on the phone with the Vmail DN and mark the button as a Message Key.
