Hi,
Today we have 2 Networker 7.12 server on HPUX machines.
We consider to move to Windows 2003 servers instead the HPUX (cost...). Can you please advise regarding cons and pros the 2? (performance, stability, migration process...)
10x in advanced, Anat

if you moved from HP/UX to windows you would straight away loose all historic information.

Why you can move the meta data from one server to another, and it "may" work, this is not supported by legato.

Pros
Cost
Easily managable

Cons
Throughput of a windows server is going to be less than a Unix server
You loose you histoic information

Think about your bandwidth, if you are going to exceed the bandwidth the windows server can cope with, then stay on the Unix server, if not then windows could be an option.

You'll get lots of replies from the windows and unix lovers, but I believe it simply comes down to manageability and cost.

I agree with keefb. A Unix server always better than a windows.
