Network works, but not the sharing in a LAN mix XP and Windows 2K

In a mix XP and Windows 2000, our LAN is WORKGROUP based, but I cannot manage to acces the other shares.
- From Win2000 machines I can see the XP box, but I get an error message "Path not found"
- From XP I cannot see the other Win2000 boxes

Internet acces works for all machines (including the XP) via a hub and router connected to the ADSL modem, so I believe cannot use ICS as there is not a PC with an Internet Connection to share.

Microsoft information about XP in a LAN with Win2000 does not help much.
I don't understand the meaning of NO Lan but YES "Part of a home network" below

The NO Lan part refers to a DOMAIN, you are in a workgroup so that does not apply.
You get Path not found? When? If the solution is out there, let us know it was helpful, so others can benefit from it as well..

One easy fix is to install NetBEUI on the boxes. This protocol is non-routable, which means that it won't work on the web. As a result, you will need to keep TCP/IP installed on all boxes. The NetBEUI protocol is availble as an add-in protocol to Windows 2000 (consult Windows 2000 help for how to install additional protocols.) However, you have to do some tweaking in Windows XP to install NetBEUI. For instructions on how to install NetBEUI in Windows XP consult read this MS KB article:

If you don't want to do that, make sure that you have NetBIOS ENABLED over TCP/IP. You can check this setting by looking at the WINS tab in the advanced properties of the TCP/IP protocol for the NICs. The setting for NetBIOS usually defaults to "Use NetBIOS settings from DHCP Server" but you need to make sure that you change that setting to "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP". There are some security concerns in using NetBIOS over TCP/IP and for that reason the NetBEUI protocol is a safer solution.
