Iam running a NetBIOS network, and I just reinstalled windows98SE and setup all of my network properties, now my computer does not prompt me to log into the network. So in order to connect, I have to log out, then i get the network login prompt.

I would like to make the computer prompt for network loggon at boot.. any ideas??

Thank you in advance!

Thank you!!!

Hey,

I want to have this windows 98 automatically logged in with the specified user. I changed the following regkey, but it won't work.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS NT > CURRENT VERSION > WINLOGON AutoAdminLogon = 1
DefaultUsername = username
DefaultPassword = password

Does anyone has a clue what is going wrong here?

Thanx
Maarten

If you are using 98 I don't think you want the Windows NT > Current Version

try going to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS NT > CURRENT VERSION > WINLOGON and creating the first of three new string values by right-clicking in the open area on the right, selecting New String Value, and calling it AutoAdminLogon
Right-clicking on the new icon, and modifying the value to 1
Creating the second string value, and calling it DefaultUserName
Modifying it by adding your default user name
Creating the last new string value and call it DontDisplayLastUserName
Modifying its value to 1
Closing the Registry

Make backup of registry before editing etc.

Smarty: Right-click on network neighborhood, click properties, in the drop down menu under Primary Network Logon, make sure you have client for Windows Logon selected. Hit ok and reboot.
