We have an NT network with 98 client workstations. Occasionally, a workstation will not allow us to log on to it. We receive the message: "The network was unable to validate your username...". The last time it happened, the user logged on to the network earlier in the day. The workstation froze up. She rebooted and then was not able to log in again and received the error message.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

jclewis

In the server, you can force logout the user. Then you will be able to connect back. In all probability, the problem could be on the NT server not releasing the user.

Thanks for your suggestion ramani. The user didn't show as being logged on to the network. I guess I should also mention that I tried logging on as "administrator" and got the same result.
