About every 2 to 3 months, I have a problem with all my IP trunks apparently locking up between the AX controller and the MXE.
When we try to call station to station between the systems, we get a Network error on the display. The strange part of this is we don't have any alarms on the MXE or the AX controllers, and a stat does not show a trouble. Rebooting the AX does not fix the trouble. Rebooting the MXE clears the trouble.
Has anyone else seen this?

Just put a scheduled reboot on the MXE for middle of the night......problem solved.

If I can recall correctly there was an TCP issue that resulted in IPtrunks not working. Reboot is not the solution, you probably run an older software version. If it is the issue I;ve seen before it was fixed in the latest 9.0 and after.

From the KB:

Body/Solutions
Symptoms:
IP trunk becomes busy in one way. It can be recovered after schedule reboot, but will return to busy within a day or so.

Root Cause:
This is due to the fact that Feature DN code is not programmed in the Cluster Element Assignment. This results in a virtual channel being busied out every 20 seconds due to a negotiation failure. When all virtual channels are busy, no IP trunks can be established with the indication of "XNET Busy"

Solution:
Program Feature DN in the cluster element assignment

Well sure enough, there was no Feature DN programed in my Cluster Elements. When I mentioned this to one of my support techs, he was surprised that it took 2 months to see a failure. I am running release 10.2.2.15
The other thing I can't seem to find is my xnet inactivity timer. it is not were we thought it would be, in the Trunks - IP/Xnet - ICP/PBX networking.

Is there an inactivity timer in this release of software?

And by the way...a big thanks to all who replied here...I appreciate it!

Glad you got it....sorry about my "bandaid on a cut that needed stitches" solution. Thanks.
