Wasn't sure what section this goes in to but im having some problems here.

I'm trying to transfer a file over the network. Both PC's are on the same switch, identical network configurations and in the same domain. Both are on a 100mbps connection.

I was transferring a 101MB file today and it took 2 hours to transfer. CPU, Memory and Network Utilization we're very low on both machines.

Any ideas on why the transfer would take so slow? What techniques can be used to troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks

I once had a similar problem caused by a wrong duplex settings. Switch was working at full duples, where NIC was doing half duplex, or such. Look into collisions. Tool to use is netstat -e Look for errors.

Thanks a lot for the response.

I actually checked the speeds on the cards and both we're set to Auto Detect.

I did the netstat -e command on both machines and it's showing no errors on both machines.
