network strange behavior

Hello
Does anyone know why the network traffic slows down on ones PC when the cable passes trough the IP phone(1220) than when the cable is plugged in directly into the network adapter of the PC?
Does it has something to do with PVQM (Proactive Voice Quality Managementor)or just the phone is old and needs to be replaced?

Make sure the network switch port and the phone is set to auto negotiate, as well as checking the network port on the PC.
