Network share keeps 'losing' authorisation details 1

I have a user who frequently accesses a network share which is located on a different domain to her own. She has a shortcut to it on her desktop which works fine (everyone has the same shortcut) but recently it has started telling her the shortcut is not valid, however this is a misleading error message as what it really means is that the username and password are missing; exactly the same shortcut can be re-copied to the desktop (or dragged from an explorer window address bar), inputting a username and password from that domain which has access makes it work fine again, but I am told that it will lose this information at every shutdown.

The annoying thing is that there appears to be no reason for this happening, it only happens on her PC, and the shortcut details don't actually change - it's just an IP address with a few subdirectories at the end of it (e.g. 192.168.5.6/dir1/dir2).

Perhaps there's something I'm overlooking here. Any ideas? Is there a way to force access in the registry or something like that?
