Hi there!

I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to vmware. I have received a machine from a colleague and the guest machine worked fine when i he was using it. So i restarted it and i dont know if that messed up everything.

My host machine is a Windows 2000 Professional and the guest virtual machine is Suse Linux 10.2.

The problem i have now, is that i cant ping the virtual machine from another machine nor can i ping another machine from the virtual machine.

Please provide me with some advice.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,

What kind of networking configuration are these Virtual Machines running? Bridged? Are they connected to the same subnets?

Hi there!

Thanks for your response. I have handed the machine to a colleague who has more experience using vmware, so i cannot check the details now.

I do know that i did have set on bridged and yes i think they were on the same subnet. Since i could ping the windows XP box, but not the wmware part.

What do you think the problem could have been?

Thanks.
Regards,
