Network Problem

Seen this before a while back but not sure what the reason was. When IPO is connected to network the lan port seems to be recieving constant large amounts of traffic and cannot connect to unit evan with the lappy plugged in directly, vm stops etc...
unplug from network and can then connect ok

I would sugest a virus sweep on the network
