I have two computers (PC1 and PC2). They are both networked and can access each others files fine.

PC1 connects to the net with a dial-up modem and is the main computer on the network. PC2 WOULD connect to the net via the LAN to PC1. However it doesn't work.

I tried Internet Connection Sharing on PC2 but it doesn't work.

Can anyone guide me through setting it up, or are there any settings which may need to be on?

Comes down to ICS being CRAP. I have had MAJOR issues on Windows XP with it so I doubt Windows 2000 is problem free in this area.

Try to do what you want another way, hardware router or firewall or something. Upgrading the machines to XP might do something too... oh and have you tried SP4?

;D

Yeah I installed SP4 today. I notice nothing except I have no updates on windows update.

The thing is ICS worked fine the other day. I installed a firewall and it messed everything up. I got rid of it and the internet was the only thing not working. Can you help?

Thanks

Hmm, not sure, depends on what the firewall all did. I would unconfigure all of the ICS then re-configure it all.

Hope you get it sorted!

Thanks I have it sorted now. PC2 had a static IP address when it shouldn't have.

Thanks for your help
