I have a VB6 application running on W2K Pro that when we come to print will not print to an installed shared network printer on an NT4 server. However the application does print when the printer has been installed as a local printer and create a new local port pointing to the shared resource.

Does anyone know why it will not print doing a network printer installation?

Thanks,

Try to use driver for win2000 ! Some printers wouldn't work on win2000 with NT4 driver.....

Thanks, I think I now understand as to why this didn't work.
The printer was shared from an NT4 server and therefore did not have the necessary W2K drivers.
Before I upgrade the server I will have to keep installing it local and assigning a new local port.
Regards,
