I have remote users who connect via an ICA client to a Windows 2000 Terminal Server running Metaframe XP. Network printers have been installed on the terminal server. The remote users cannot print from Word 2002(Office XP) to network printers. They can print printer test pages and can also print from other applications. Print jobs sent from Word appear on the server's print queue and then disappear as if they've been successful. There are no error messages and the print job just disappears into the ether. From the server I can print Word docs to these remote network printers, but remote users cannot. All suggestions welcome!

Check that the remote users client printer names have been mapped correctly. The event log on the MetaFrame server should give some clues.

Hope this helps

What type of printer are you using?

Terminal servers have problems with many types of printers. Try to change the print driver that the users are using. There are a couple of articles about this:

In my company, I use the HP Laserjet 4 driver for most of our printers, even though they are not Laserjet 4's (and some aren't even HP).

You should also post your question on the Citrix forum here. There are some really experienced people there that could help.

Good luck

Thanks for the responses, and the links. The printers are Lexmark T614 which worked fine when the Terminal Server was NT, but we recently upgraded to a Win2K server. Also, they are installed on the TS as network printers (not client-side printers), using TCP/IP printer ports. At first I thought it was a driver issue but the users can print test pages etc, the only app (so far) they cannot print from is MS Word.
