Network Printer Driver note getting installed

When a user goes to add a Network printer, the drivers are not getting installed. Once the print is added and when they go to print, it says "drvers for that printer and not installed". They then have to browse to the print server where the drivers reside and manually add the drivers. Any idea's? They have right to the the shared drivers folder??

Sounds like you need to install the drivers on the server for download to the clients...
Try here, it's for 2000 but NT is the same I think, you don't say what OS you're using for the server (or workstation?)...

Yes I did that Karmic. I have two Windows 2000 Server being used a print servers. Issues occured when I updated some of the drivers. After that they would not get installed. I had to login to the local account on the users system and delete all print drivers installed. After doing so, it allowed me to reinstall the network printers. Who knows, a little qwerky.

I had the same kind of trouble and I turn around it the next way:

I installed the driver on another regular PC, and shared it, then when I want to install the network printer on another one i just go to that first PC. After installation is done I just switch to the port it really is at the server...

I was in a hurry, so it worked and ended my pains...

Its interesting because the printer gets added, but when you go to print or do properties for that printer it says drivers not installed, so I have to manually point to the server for the partiular printer where the drivers are stored on a shared drive.
