We have a user who lost connection to their PST file which was held on a network drive.
The Help Desk tried to reconnect them to the PST, but created a new, empty PST in the usual folder.
Here's the problem, looking at the backup tapes the PST file was never stored in the correct location on the network. As the Help Desk tried to connect to the PST at this location, but created a new PST, the path to the old PST has been lost from Outlook. Is there any way to find the path to the old PST?
Needless to say, the Help Desk can't remember the error message or the path. Searching the network won't help as all PSTs are named 'personal.pst'.
My manager seems to think these settings are stored in Active Directory, and as we have a test LAN with an older version of AD running, we could recover the path from there. Is he correct?
We are using Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2002.
Thanks in advance.
