I have a problem with our windows 2000 server. I can't access any folders via the shares even on the server itself. I go into network neighbourhood and can view all the machines on the network, I click on a server and see all the shared folders listed but when I try to open one, I get "the network path was not found" error.

The workstations have internet and email access but have no access to their shared folders. They cannot use the print facilities either.

We have had a few viruses on the system but I have scanned and deleted them all and we now have virus software in place.

Could our problem be anything to do with these viruses and if so how can I get our network back?

Thankyou in advance

Try accessing one from the Run command by \\<ip address>\sharename. That will tell us if it could be a DNS problem....

Thanks,

seems the file sharing is somehow wrong, or the permission is wrong.
