Network Neighborhood

I have 8 computers on a network connected with a hub. One computer is not communicating with the others. When I go to network neighborhood on this computer, it sees the other 7 computers but not itself. The other 7 do not see it but do see themselves. Where might the problem be?

Do you have File & Print Sharing enabled on this PC?

Does it belong to the same workgroup/domain?

Alrighty then. I could ask you questions all day, so perhaps you should go into more description on your setup.

Are there software firewalls involved?
Did it ever work?
Are all 8 PC's Windows 98?
Have you compared TCP/IP settings with another working PC?
etc
etc
etc...

It can take up to 2 hours for your computer browsing to see all the computers on the network, especially if you reboot the machines alot. If you have no server, then the master brower is moving around.. you might want to dedicate it to a machine that acts more or less like a server (the one you power down the least). If you DO have a server then just confirm it's the master browser.

does your gateway settings on the "bad" machine match the gateway setting on the systems that work?

on the odd ball box...are you logging on as Username that has a profile located on the shared boxes?
Check in Client for MS Networks for "Restore Network Connections" in properties..or make it match what the others have
