Thanks in advance for any insights!

We had a 4-PC network with one Win95 and 3 Win 98 computers in a peer-to-peer configuration. It was running fine with all shared resource visable and usable by everyone.

We added a new machine with Windows XP Home preloaded. We are trying to use this as the new server. After switching from NetBeui to IPX/SPX per the new help files, the server now is able to share folders and printers, and the other four printers can "see" it in network neighborhood.

The Win XP machine only sees itself in the workgroup. We also cannot directly map to another shared folder by entering the network path directly.

I have checked the workgroup name on all the machines.

Help - Thanks again.

Why are you not using TCP/IP for your protocol. This would be the most ideal for your situation. Just set Static IP address on all machine in the 192.168.0.x range. Also the XP home should become the master browser by default after a browser election happens. The master browser allow you to see the other machines on your network in Network neighborhood. email me if you have any questions about setting up your network. jkindler@foleylaw.com This is my work address.
