Network Monitoring

Hi all,

Could anyone recommend a network monitoring software for 3COM devices, that will be able to monitor traffic spikes from host to host that won't require me to sit in the middle to capture.

I'm face with a problem, I have a DS3 line and whenever I have a burst of traffic the line bounces. Atleast if I could find the culprit, I could contain the problem until I find the fault.
