I'm looking for an application to place (preferably) onto my W2k Coldfusion MX Server that will essentially function as a Network Monitor for our intranet.

We are currently using a piece of software running on a Suse Linux server called Big Brother. But overall, our satisfaction with the customizations and reports available from this product aren't too high.

So if anyone knows of a network monitoring tool - all we're really looking for is something to tell us if a server is up or down, ping our remote passports, etc - and give us the information that ip addresss aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is down and the last good ping was at time x.

Web interface is of course a must and it would be nice if it functioned well with Coldfusion.

Does anyone know of any software that meets this type of criteria?

Thanks!

Have you looked at WhatsUp Gold from Ipswitch on This tool scans your network and monitors devices and services. It has integrated SNMP capabilities to obtain performance data from your server. For alerting you can choose from email, pager, sms, ... You get web access for monitoring and the most configuration options.

Hope that helps!
