Hello,
I have two sites linked together via Point-to-Point T1 circuit through Telco. I set up both systems to allow 4 digit dialing of extensions between each site. This was working for a while, but stopped working the other day. My set up is as follows:

Site A: MICS 6.1
71xx extensions
Target lines built for 4 digits for each extension
Destination codes built for each extension at Site B.
Route built for Dest Codes to access P-to-P T1.

Site B: MICS 6.1
65xx extensions
Target lines built for 4 digits for each extension.
Dest codes built for each extension at Site A.
Route built for Dest Codes to access P-to-P T1.

Basically both sites are set up similar, and the Dest Codes are set to absorb 0.

I checked the Network Log, but found only an event for when I erased it, at each site.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Are you sure that the circuit is up & running. If you put one of the actual lines (not target line) on the phone and access it then you should get dial tone.

hawks,
Thanks for the quick response.
I also have that circuit set up for the user to dial 8 to access it, and they claim that they do receive dialtone.

I failed to mention my line config earlier:
Both sites are provisioned for all 24 channels. All 24 lines at each site were set up as E&M, Winkstart, but I changed the first 8 to DID once this stopped working.

When they dial the 8 can they dial anything and reach the operator on the other side? If so then look at your Public DN length for the Prefix 7 or 6 depending on which system your in. Make sure that it is set for 4 digits as the DN Length. If all else fails you should be able to make one of the lines manual answer. Then if it appears on a set and you can hit that line from the other side it will ring without dialing any digits. At least that will tell you that the circuit is ok.

hawks,
I implemented those changes on the Public Network DNs, but won't find out until tomorrow if this solution worked.
Thank you for your assistance.

*Update*
I had to remove the Public DN entries of 6 and 7 from the system, due to local 6xx and 7xx prefixes.
Now, the customer claims that 4 digit dialing is working from Site A to Site B, but not from B to A. I triple checked the configuration on both sites, and it is identical, except for different dest codes of course.

*UPDATE*
Figured I'd update the resolution, since a lot of people browse these forums for answers.

The problem ended up being the 1FB phone line that was used for the FastRAD. This was setup in the same pool as the Point to Point channels. Obviously, when I Remote Set, and tested, this 1FB was busied out, and testing when smooth. Once I disconnected, the line was available for pool, and users grabbed it first, thus experiencing problems. I set that 1FB line to Public, works like a champ!

Boy is my face red! I probably won't live this one down for awhile!
